Harmony Centre Owen Sound, 890 4th Ave E, Owen Sound, ON N4K 2N7, Canada

About the Event

A free panel discussion about climate change and municipal declaration. Local panelists include Danielle Valiquette, the local Green Party candidate in the upcoming federal election and a Grey Highlands councillor, Grey County planners Scott Taylor and Hiba Hussain, and Dyan Jones, who recently – and successfully – urged West Grey to declare a climate change emergency.

The panel will address what declaring a climate emergency means, why we should care about the effects of climate change, why addressing it is a municipal issue, what municipalities can do about it, and what is the role of a citizen advisory committee.
